MRS. ISABELLE  ALLEN
DIES HERE SATURDAY

  Mrs. Isabelle Allen, 89, a pioneer resident of Grangeville and north central 
Idaho, died at 3:50 Saturday afternoon, December 17, at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. Louis Webber in Grangeville. Funeral services were held at the 
Webber home Tuesday with the Rev. James Brown of the local Baptist church 
officiating. Arrangements were in charge of the Hancock Funeral Home. Pall-
bearers were her grandsons; Arthur Webber, Ralph Webber, John Webber, J. Ben 
Luehrs, Dick Luehrs, and Lewis Graham. Interment was in Fariview Cemetery by 
the side of her husband who died eight years ago.
  Isabelle Tittle was born at Bentonville, Arkansas, March 21, 1849. On August 
23, 1865, she was united in marriage to James B. Allen in her hometown and to 
this union nine children were born. The family came west in 1883 and located 
at Soldier, Idaho. Eight years later the family moved to Grangeville where 
residence was maintained. Mrs. Allen became a Christian while a young woman, 
joining the Baptist Church.
  Survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Louis Webber, Mrs. Albert Webber, 
and Mrs. Christ Luehrs, all of Grangeville; one son, George Allen of 
Farmington, Washington; 31 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and six 
great-great-grandchidren. Three daughters and two sons have preceded her to 
the grave.
  
A precious one from us has gone,
A voice We love is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home
which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The Boon His love had given;
And though the body slumbers here,
The body is safe in heaven.
