Cash Dies After Long Illness John A. Cash, long resident of this vicinity died Thursday evening of last week after a lingering illness. He was born October 16, 1877 at Mt. Vernon, Indiana and when a boy of five came to Idaho with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Cash. The trip was made with mule team to the old town of Denver. Later they moved to the foot hills south of Grangeville, taking a homestead- their home at the time of his passing. He married Miss Eva Smith in Grangeville on June 16, 1903. He is survived by his wife and ten children: Mrs. Leland Brown, Port Orchard, Wash.; Mrs. Angus McArthur, Troy, Oregon; Joseph Cash, Asotin; Vance and Keith Cash, Mrs. Paul Warden, Mrs. Henry Vanderwall, Mrs. Andrew Riener, David and Gordon Cash, Grangeville; 30 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two brothers, William Cash, Grangeville, and Elmer Cash of Canfield. Funeral services were from the Hancock Chapel Monday, February 10, with the Rev. R.H. Burke officiating and interment in Prairie View Cemetery. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Pearl Campbell and Mrs. Weston Henry with Mrs. Marie Green at the organ. Pallbearers were Eugene Warden, John Warden, Frank Johnson, Owen Morgan, George Parks and Howard Edwards.
