Finney, a pioneer of the Woodland section of Idaho county, died at his farm home December 31 following an illness of seven months. Funeral services were held at the Friends church in Woodland January 2 with Merlo Green officiating. Burial was in Woodland cemetery. Frank Abraham Finney was born in Woodson county, Kansas, in 1871. While a boy he accompanied his mother, brother, George, and sister, Mary, to Moscow, Idaho, and later to the Woodland section of Idaho county, where the latter three filed upon homesteads. He was united in marriage to Mabel Lilly George, March 17, 1902, at Kamiah, to which union seven children were born. Mr. Finney was prominent in his community where he served as a member of the first board of road commissioners appointed by the governor for the Woodland highway district and many times served as a member of the school board. Friends and neighbors held him in high esteem. Survivors include seven children, Mrs. J. E. Patterson, George Finney, Floyd Finney, Everett Finney of Woodland; Mrs. A. J. Schroeder, Mrs. Harold Knight, of Kamiah; Mrs. C. V. Caldwell, Monte Sano, Washington; 23 grandchildren.
