He had been ill only a few days. It is understood that he has been in fine spirits of late, being in line for the return of his old position as a maintenance man with the state highway department. James Oscar Harris was born in Jackson County, Oregon, April 30, 1883 and came to Idaho County about 40 years ago with his parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Isreal Harris, and has make his home here ever since. Survivors include his wife Mrs. Emily Harris; four sons, Rex, Billy, and Wesley at home, and Kenneth in the U.S. Marines in Cuba; one daughter, Mrs. Geneva Klaus of this city and two grandchildren. Three sisters also survive, Mrs. Elsworth Steinhouse of Grangeville; Mrs. H.C. Gee, Freewater, Oregon; Mrs. John Deasy in the Federated Malay states. Funeral services are being held this morning (Thursday) from the Hancock Funeral Home with the Rev. James Brow officiating, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Henry singing with Mrs. Walter Rape at the organ. Interment in Prairie View Cemetery. Pallbearers are Harold Godfrey, James Strickland, Marion Lee, Merden Shaw, Peter F. Klaus and Paul Rose.
