Cause of death was not disclosed. Edward Malerich was born December 19, 1876 at Lincoln, Ill. He came west in 1889 and located at Moscow where he lived for several years before coming to Cottonwood in 1901. He was united in marriage here to Miss Lena Forsmann on April 12, 1904. They had 10 children, eight of whom are living. Mr. Malerich was a member of a family in which there were 17 children. Only two sisters survive. Mr. and Mrs. Malerich and their family moved to Lewiston in 1927 and had resided there continuously since that time. He was a retired painter and paperhanger. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church in Lewiston. Besides his widow, at home, he is survived by three sons, Barney and Ralph Malerich, Spokane, and Bruce Malerich, with the U. S. Air Force in Ankara, Turkey; five daughters, Mrs. Lilly Schnider, Grangeville; Mrs. Lucile Charboneau, Moses Lake, Wash; Mrs. Bertha Mae Wold and Mrs. Lenore Miller, Lewiston, and Mrs. Irene Dufour, Culdesac; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Stark, Council Bluffs, Iowa and Mrs. Lillian Bucklie, Portland, Ore. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Malerich were conducted this (Thursday) morning at 10 o’clock at St. Stanislaus Church with the Reverend William Elliot officiating and reading the reqium mass. Interment was in Normal Hill Cemetery. The Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
