The deceased had been in poor health for some months but his ailment only assumed a serious aspect a few weeks ago. He then went to Juliaetta and Lewiston for treatment but could get no relief and came home again. Death was due to cirrhosis of the liver, and while he suffered no great pain, he was not able to take much nourishment and gradually wasted away until death came to his relief. The deceased was nearly 60 years of age and had been a resident of Cottonwood for about 15 years, having come here from Moscow. He was an honest, upright citizen, a kind and loving husband and father and a man whose loyalty of friendship could not be questioned. By his death his family has lost a loving provider and the community a valued citizen. He left a widow and six children, besides many relatives and friends to mourn his loss. All of the family and many relatives were present at his deathbed. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made. The Chronicle joins with the many friends of the deceased in tendering sincere sympathy to the sorrowing family in their affliction. Cottonwood Prairie Chronicle, Feb 23, 1912 “The funeral of Joseph Schober who died last Friday was held Monday morning from the Catholic Church and was very largely attended. All business houses closed out of respect to the deceased and the large concourse of people that followed the remains to their last resting place bore silent witness to the esteem in which he was held by all who knew him.” “Joseph Kambrich and John Hordemann left Tuesday morning for their homes near Moscow after attending the funeral of Joseph Schober on Monday.” File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/id/idaho/obits/s/schober3038gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/idfiles/ File size: 2.5 Kb
