Jerome, Aug 30- James Franklin Shannon, 95, a resident of Jerome until 15 
years ago, died Tuesday at a rest home in the Dalles, Oregon.
  He was born Nov. 24, 1866, in Miami county, Kans. He married Fannie Mordica 
in 1896 and they moved to Jerome. He had lived in Eugene and the Dalles the 
past 15 years.
  Surviving are two sons, Lossie Shannon, Eugene, and Herbert Shannon, The 
Dalles; two brothers, Merritt Shannon and Jeffery Shannon, both Kansas; five 
grandchildren and eight great-grand children. His wife died in 1949 and his 
daughter in 1945.
  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Wiley funeral chapel 
by the Rev. Ralph Fothergill, Jerome Methodist church. Final rites are planned 
in Jerome cemetery.
