Born June 14, 1929, in St. Cloud, Minn., to Elmer and Margaret Anderson, the family later moved to Minneapolis, where Paul graduated from high school and attended University of Minnesota. Except for a two-year interruption to serve in the Army, Paul worked in the telephone industry for 35 years, beginning with Northwest Bell Telephone Company, General Telephone and retired from Pacific Bell Telephone Company in 1984. On March 8, 1957, he married Carol Addeman. They had three children, Ginny, David and Eric Anderson. Because of Paul's loving, kind and honest nature, he was loved by many. He loved children, animals, woodcarving and fishing. He was a 4-H livestock leader for 10 years and was chosen to be "Leader of the Year" for Kootenai County. Paul had several foster children over the years and opened his home to any person who needed shelter or retreat. He is survived by his children Ginny and Wayne Long, Dave and Chris Anderson, of Coeur d'Alene, Eric and Chandra Anderson, Yakima, Wash., Duane and Faye Jones, Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren Chad and Megan Longo, Leonel and Erik Anderson and Adelaide Anderson; brother Robert Anderson, Brevard, N.C.; nephews Peter and Steven Anderson; niece Christine Eberle and their families. Paul will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Jan. 7 at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel.
