All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/id/idfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: K T bluewolf@onemain.com October 23, 2005, 1:02 am Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Bobbi Burnside, 72 Roberta "Bobbi" (Archer) Burnside, 72, was born to David and Neva Archer in Fort Benton, Mont., on Nov. 18, 1932, and passed away Oct. 17, 2005, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, after complications from a brain aneurysm. Her most recent home was in Centralia, Wash., but she lived most of her adult life in Post Falls. Bobbi attended grade school at the Ursuline Convent at St. Ignatius. She also spent one year at Lords Academy in Wallace in 1948 and continued her education at St. Pat's School in Walla Walla, Wash. After her schooling, Bobbi worked as a nanny for a family in Walla Walla. She moved with them to Portland and met her future husband and father of her five children, Jimmie Rae Burnside, who was stationed in Portland with the Navy. Once he was deployed, she moved to Albuquerque to live with her in-laws and was joined there by her husband when he returned. After giving birth to her children, she and her family moved north and settled in Post Falls in 1967. Bobbi worked a variety of jobs in the area, including hairdresser (barber) and caretaker. It was in Post Falls where she met many close friends and made many memories. Bobbi is survived by her companion, Lee Remsburg, of Centralia, Wash.; sister Dorothy Salmonson, and husband Earl, Missoula, Mont.; son Alan Burnside and wife Linda, Delores, Colo; daughter Joan Colton and husband Patrick, Delores, Colo.; son Jim Burnside, Post Falls; daughter Brenda Burnside, Nosara, Costa Rica; and son Tim Burnside and wife Shannon, Coeur d'Alene. Eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, David and Neva Archer, and sisters Dorris Archer and Doreen Marmont Avila-Vermeer. Bobbi enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. She loved to entertain and could always be counted on to serve a wonderfully creative meal. Fishing, traveling and gardening were all hobbies that gave her great pleasure. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Memorial service arrangements are pending. Please call 665-0838 for more information.
