Arrangements are under the direction of English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene. Juanita was born June 21, 1914, to Gertrude (Trudy) Paist Bennett and John (J.E.) Bennett at 911 Lakeside Ave. in Coeur d'Alene. A few years later, the family moved down the street to 921 Lakeside Ave., where Juanita spent her childhood and teenage years. She was a student at both Central Grade School and Coeur d'Alene Junior High, and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School with the class of 1931. She attended the University of Idaho and was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority there. Juanita married her high school sweetheart, Henry G. Rust, on March 12, 1932. They had three children, Barry, Sally and Henrietta. Although she was a homemaker most of her life, for a period of time she was a telephone operator in Coeur d'Alene. She was extremely proud of the years she worked for the city of Coeur d'Alene Police Department. From 1956 to 1973, Juanita and Henry lived in Ravenswood, W. Va., where he was employed at the Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation. Henry passed away in October 1973 and was laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene. It was at that time that Juanita moved back to the beloved city at Coeur d'Alene, where she enjoyed walking and driving around the city, and other parts of North Idaho. She never tired of seeing beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene and Tubbs Hill. Juanita is survived by her son, Barry Rust of Coeur d'Alene; daughters Sally Mauser, La Conner, Wash., and Henrietta Wolfe, Spokane; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Henry, she was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marion Shaeffer. At Juanita's request, no services will be held.
