She was a resident at Life Care Center of Coeur d'Alene at the time of her death. Florence was born to Percy and Leona Brock on April 9, 1928, in Santa Monica, Calif., and grew up in Olympia and Friday Harbor, both in Washington. It was in Friday Harbor that Florence married Larry Rinehart in 1948, a union that produced her two cherished children. She is survived by her younger brother, Dick Brock, Lake Tahoe, Calif.; son Stephen Rinehart, Bishop, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Pamela (Rinehart) and Rick Alexander, Post Falls; granddaughters Brittany and Chelsea Alexander, Post Falls; granddaughter and husband, Jennifer (Rinehart) and Seth Wegner, Longview, Wash.; and great-grandson Hayden Wegner, Longview. Florence also left behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and the wonderful friends and caretakers she met at Life Care. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Lou (Brock) Moore, and brother Edward Brock. Despite being confined to a wheelchair, Florence enjoyed taking drives around the local lakes with her daughter and granddaughters. She loved the fresh air and the beauty of her adopted North Idaho home of the past three years. All those who knew Florence were immediately struck by her joy of life, and her broad smile and twinkling blue eyes that greeted each resident and staff member of Life Care on a daily basis. No one passed by without a hug or a squeeze of the hand from Florence. Memorial service took place 1 p.m. Sept. 1 at His Place Church in Post Falls, with Pastor Doug Wieber officiating. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, was in charge of cremation.
