Born June 11, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Noble and Alene (Carey) Cadick, at the age of 5, Bob and his family moved to Long Beach, Calif., where he attended Jordon High School. He joined the Navy at age 17 and served four years during World War II. In 1947, he met Alice Patzin in Bellflower, Calif., and they were married in Long Beach on Dec. 23, 1947. Bob and Alice raised three children. Bob started his career with North American Aviation in California and later moved with Rockwell to Washington state at the Hanford Project. He was a director of quality assurance. He retired in 1984 and moved to Coeur d'Alene. Bob loved fishing and, as long as his line was wet, he was a happy man. He also loved hunting, airplanes, race cars and riding horses. In the 1950s, he flew at Edwards Air Force Base with such notables as Chuck Yeager, Wheaties Welch, Bob Hoover and Al Blackburn. He flew in F-86s, F-100s, F-101s and F- 104s. Bob always had a joke to tell and was friendly to everyone he met. He loved people and would make new friends while enjoying fishing. He recently stated that he had done everything he wanted to do in his life. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Alice at their home; daughters Kathy Moore and husband Jim, Las Vegas, and Sue Biondi, Coeur d'Alene; son Jeff Cadick and wife Debi, Kennewick, Wash.; grandchildren Bree Biondi, Portland, Wendy Bauer and husband Ron, Priest River, Derik Shinton and wife Keesha, Las Vegas, and Jessica Cadick, Kennewick; and great-granddaughter Hailey Shinton, Las Vegas. Bob loved his grandchildren and enjoyed them visiting and staying the weekend at their home. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Juanita Parris of Long Beach, Calif. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Oct. 22 at St. Pius Catholic Church, with Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene, in charge of arrangements. The family prefers memorials to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N.
