Carney, 77, Hauser, died Dec. 31, 2005, at Kootenai Medical Center. Born Jan. 12, 1928, to Patty and Roy R. Carney in St. Louis, William moved at an early age to California, where he was raised and lived most of his life. He served in the Army, then married Ruth Juergens on Nov. 15, 1952, in El Monte, Calif. They came to North Idaho in 1981. William was a long- and short-haul truck driver. He was a member of the Teamsters, Foresters, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and Eagles. He is survived by his daughters Ruth Harvey of Azusa, Calif., and Leanne Carney, Hauser; grandson Michael Carney; granddaughter Desiree Harvey; and sisters Ileane Beck and Mary Jane Head. William was preceded in death by his wife Ruth on Nov. 29, 1991, two brothers and one sister. Visitation service will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 4 at English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls.
