Cole, 62, Ogden, Utah, left this life on Aug. 12, 2005, to dwell with the Lord. He was greeted with open arms by waiting family and friends. His spirit soars with those who missed him. He is in the midst of a reunion, celebrating love, joy and renewal. The limits placed on him the last few years are no more; he is free of pain and torment. He is rejoicing. Ron was born in his grandparents' home in Weston, Idaho, on Aug. 23, 1942, to Newman and Idelle Cole. Though he spent his life in many places, the ones he loved best had mountains, streams, lakes, blues skies and pine trees. Some of his favorites were Island Park, Idaho; Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Wyo.; Coeur d'Alene; and Valley Camp in Eden, Utah. He treasured memories of each of these areas and times spent with those he loved. Ron's life included a diverse range of employment. He could do anything he put his mind to. He worked driving truck for CR England and IML, as a steel gang foreman for the UPRR, operating heavy equipment for Washington Construction, selling real estate for Wardley Inc., with which he was a yearly member of the million dollar club. Ron started his own businesses in concrete, general contacting, heavy equipment work, and hydro-seeding. Many who knew him were associated with him through his work with AA and Valley Camp. Ron was instrumental in helping pull together resources and talent to establish Valley Camp in Eden, Utah. One of the most important endeavors of his life, Ron was dedicated to its success and to the people he associated with there. Ron had a zest for hunting, fishing and eating. There were few things that made him happier than a good meal. He said once that it satisfied him to his soul. He loved to eat; he packed away the food and never gained an ounce. Ronald has left in this life a family who will cherish their memories of him. He is survived by his sister Mariellen; son Ronald Hope (Jamie); daughters Shamara Lee and Lori Jane (Robert); grandchildren Barbara Jane (Cliff), Sherry Ann, Andrew Shad, Amy Michelle, Candice Ellen, Joshua Dean; great-grandson Trenton Alexander; stepdaughters Misty Pauline and Deanna Lynn; step- grandchildren Zachary Travis, Zoe Taylor, Madelyn Ash and Meadow Skye. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Newman and Idelle Cole, and sister Sherry Dee Hope. Farewell to Ron will be Aug. 18 at the Weston Ward Chapel in Weston. Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church; with funeral service at 1 p.m. and burial at Weston Cemetery. Arrangements under the care of Webb Funeral Home, 109 E.
