Mrs. Maude M. Dittemore, one of Coeur d'Alene's best known pioneers, died suddenly last evening at the family home, 819 Coeur d'Alene Avenue. She had attended a meeting of the Spanish-American War veterans auxiliary during the evening and suffered a heart attack shortly after arriving home. Her death occured almost instantly. Coming here during the days of Fort Sherman, Mrs. Dittemore had resided here continuously for 55 years. The daughter of Wm. T. Morris. Mrs. Dittemore had seen life at several frontier forts in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and Nebraska before her family moved here where her father was a member of the 14th Infantry band. Her marriage to Perry Dittemore took place here in 1901. For a number of years Mrs. Dittemore was an active club worker. She was past Idaho president of the Women's Benefit association Pioneers, the Pythian Sisters and the Spanish American war veterans auxiliary. Surviving her are her husband at the family home, her mother Mrs. Christina Zimmer, 603 Indiana avenue and a sister, Mrs. Inez C. Scott also of this city.
