She was born July 15, 1911, in Milwaukee, Wis., to John W. Eltzholtz and Mary E. Fowler. She is survived by her husband Robert L. Wagnitz of Post Falls; daughters Roberta Dresback, Spokane, Patricia Weaver, Whittier, Calif., Karen Coulter, The Woodlands, Texas, and Jo Ann Briggs, Yorba Linda, Calif. Edith is also survived by her stepchildren Robert Cox, Tacoma, Wash., Doris Kutz, Coeur d'Alene, Ann Bullis, Hardin, Mont., Barbara Schnase, Ronan, Mont., Jeff Wagnitz, Olympia, Wash.; 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her older brother Dean Eltzholtz and twin sister Ruth Smith. Although Edith was well-known in the Spokane/Coeur d'Alene area as a classical piano teacher, she also had a life-time interest in politics, serving as a state representative from Park County in the Montana State Legislature. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Nov. 12 at Spokane Valley Nazarene Church, corner of Sullivan and East 20th Avenue. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, is in charge of arrangements.
