Bonnie's adventure began Sept. 2, 1937, with her birth to Maurice and Leona Engle in Lewiston. She grew up in Lacey, Wash., and graduated from North Thurston High School in 1956. On June 9 of that year, she married Cecil Grant in Lacey. Bonnie loved to travel, and Cecil's military career allowed them to move with their children throughout most of the 50 states, as well as having had the opportunity to live in both Germany and the Philippines. They settled in Coeur d'Alene in 1972. As a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Coeur d'Alene Eagles Aerie 486 for the past 27 years, Bonnie spent many hours helping at the Lodge and volunteering at fund-raisers. She enjoyed reading, music, dancing, late-night trips to the casino and camping with her family and friends, especially those in the Hardy Bunch! One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family and knowing she held a special bond with each member. Bonnie lived her life as an adventure, and cherished every day and loved to tell the stories. She is survived by her husband, Cecil, at home; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Jim Bragg, Washtucna, Wash.; sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Carrie Grant, Coeur d'Alene, Tracy and Ann Grant, Otis Orchards, Wash., Marty and Leisa Grant, St. Maries; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Ann Engle, Olympia, Wash.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mert and Cliff Tautfest, Craigmont, Idaho; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pete and Connie Grant, and brother-in-law Bill Grant, all of Lewiston; grandchildren Monica Adams and husband Jason, Mike Nelson, Denise Peterson, Dawn Bryan, Nick Grant, Chris Grant, Karissa Grant, Annalysia Grant, Lucia Grant, Sandra Grant, Valerie Grant, Ethan Grant and Steven Grant; seven great-grandchildren and 15 nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, sister LaDonna Perras, grandson Kyran and niece Kelly. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Doctors Haluk Tezcan, John Pennings and Edward Ellison, their associates, the staff members of the North Idaho Cancer Center, Kootenai Medical Center and Hospice. Their kindness and gentle care was amazing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bonnie's name to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be 1-3 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Coeur d'Alene Eagles Lodge. Her adventure continues...
