A graduate of University of California at Los Angeles in electronics engineering, Walter worked as an electronics engineer and project manager for Hughes Aircraft in California. Through his employment, he was involved with Survivor Program, F16 Tomahawk, F15, and the Warning Missile-System Program. Walter was very proud of his accomplishments and many of his memories hang today in his workshop. Walter and Sunny moved to Post Falls in 1987. During retirement, Walt enjoyed woodworking and traveling, and was the Travel Club chairman for the Post Palls Senior Center, with which he also served on the Accreditation Committee for the Center. His greatest joys were traveling with his grandchildren and blessing them with wonderful memories and great stories. Walter loved music and often took family members to concerts. For a number of years, he was a square-dance caller. Walter was a past exalted ruler of the San Pedro (Calif.) Elks Lodge and was a member of the Coeur d'Alene Elks. He was, and Sunny remains, a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Post Falls. Walter will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Sunny Lee; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lulu Fagan, Yucca Valley, Calif., Charlie and Debbie Fagan, Carson, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Fleetis Miller, Post Falls, Sunny and Randy Chaney, Rathdrum. Walter was blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren, Gregory, Cheryl, April, Michael, Julie, Brandon, Timothy and Lacy, as well as 11 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Walter's life has been held. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, is in charge of cremation.
