Gorniak, 92, Hayden, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Autumn Haven Home. Born Dec. 14, 1912, in Detroit, to Andrew and Agnes (Malczewski) Gorniak, Edward lived most of his life in Detroit and worked as a skilled machinist. On June 14, 1941, he married Diana Jakubiszyn in Detroit. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in April 2000 to be near family. Edward was a member of St. Gertrude Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores, Mich. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, traveling, singing in a Polish choir, and especially ballroom dancing. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law Ronald and Joann Gorniak, Harrison, Randall and Sharon Gorniak, Rome, N.Y.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Diana, in 2001, brother Leonard and sister Helen. Memorial service with family and friends will be 11 a.m. Aug. 15 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E.
