Hamilton, 84, was the son of Kathryn E. (Kohl) and Clyde L. Hamilton, both deceased. Floyd grew up in Birdsboro, Pa., and graduated from Birdsboro High in 1939. After graduation, he worked in Harrisburg, Pa., testing concrete for the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Floyd was drafted into the Army Air Corps and served during World War II. After his discharge, he joined the Pennsylvania Air National Guard at Reading Airport. Floyd also served at Dover Air Force Base when the 148th Air National Guard was activated during the Korean War. He continued his association with the Washington Air National Guard Reserve unit until retirement. Floyd's employment as an electronics technical field representative for Hughes Aircraft Company meant assignment to various locations throughout the United States. In 1967, Floyd purchased the Rockford Bay Marina on Lake Coeur d'Alene, which he operated until the mid '80s. He made many friends and enjoyed an active life in North Idaho. His interests included skiing, going on snowmobile rides, sailing, boating, and entertaining friends and family. Floyd is survived by his sister, Molly Ann Kline of Mt. Pleasant, Pa.; first wife Norma and their children Rick, Terry and Keith. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Jean (Hurd) Christianson. Floyd has two grandchildren, Tina Stafford, Spokane and Reid Hamilton, New York; and great-grandchildren Haylee and Hannah Stafford, both of Spokane. Memorial service for Floyd will be 1 p.m. Jan. 2 at Thornhill Valley Funeral Home, 1400 S. Pines, Spokane, (509) 924-2211.
