Hansen, 45 Kendall C. Hansen "K.C.", 45, Coeur d'Alene, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at Kootenai Medical Center. He was born March 22, 1960, in Boise, the fifth of six children born to Vear and Colleen Hansen. He was a 1978 graduate of Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Ore. From 1979 to 1981, he served a mission in London, England, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. K.C. married Mary Kathryn Meeker on April 24, 1982, at the Idaho Falls LDS Temple in Idaho Falls. They then moved to Green Acres, Wash., where he began his lifetime career of working in the lumber industry. The companies he worked for included WI Forest Products, DAW Forest Products, Crown Pacific and TPM Resource Management. He faithfully served his church in various capacities, including Young Men's Leader, member of the Bishopric, Bishop, and recently, a member of the Stake Presidency. However, his greatest accomplishment was his family. In his 23 years of marriage to Mary Hansen, his best friend and greatest love, they had five children. They made their home in Coeur d'Alene. K.C. enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, woodworking and automobiles. He spent many hours volunteering with various community agencies and causes. K.C. touched many lives during his own life and had a gift for finding the good in others. He will be deeply missed. K.C. is survived by his wife, Mary Hansen, and children Autumn, Tiffany, Kristal, Jenna and son Jesse, all of Coeur d'Alene. He is also survived by his mother, Colleen Hansen of Rathdrum; siblings Kirk Hansen, Gooding, Idaho, Kim Hansen, Rathdrum, Kelly Mason, Southbury, Conn., Kristi Haslam, Portland, and Kayla Medsker, Rathdrum; and numerous nieces and nephews. K.C. was preceded in death by his father Vear H. Hansen, of Rathdrum, in July 2003. Viewing will be 9-10:45 a.m. Oct. 6, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. at Coeur d'Alene LDS Stake Center, 2801 N. Fourth Street. Burial and grave dedication will follow at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been set up for K.C.'s children.
