He was born in Billings, Mont., on Sept. 9, 1932, to Howard and Madeline Hanson. Ron graduated from Billings Central High and attended Eastern Montana College. He had a long and very successful career in the agricultural industry before retiring and doing consulting work part time. Dad loved outdoor activities and was an avid water skier. Many a summer evening was spent at Lake Elmo or Cooney Dam. He loved to hunt. He also spent a great deal of time parachuting. Dad moved to Idaho from California in the early '90s and there gave his life to Jesus Christ. He could be found nearly every morning reading his Bible and devotional and praying. After moving back to Billings in 2003, Dad attended the Blue Creek Baptist Church. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and wife Willi Hanson. He is survived by his sister Beverly Heins (Lester); daughter Christine Voeller; sons Michael (Sherry), Robert, Lawrence, Timothy (Jeanette), Wayne (Anne Marie), Robert Brassfield (Rebecca), and Melinda Brassfield.; as well as 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dad will be missed more than words can express. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service was held Dec. 23 at Blue Creek Baptist Church. An additional memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 3 at Blue Creek Baptist Church.
