He was born March 23, 1953, in Anchorage, Alaska, where he was raised and lived most of his life. He also lived for a time in California, and while in North Idaho had also lived in Post Falls and Coeur d'Alene. Marvin was a self- employed sand-blaster and horse rancher. He was a great father to his children, who survive him -- daughter Sierra Anne Jackson of Hayden, who was forever his "little angel" and "daddy's girl to the max," and son Michael Travis Jackson of St. Anthony's, Idaho, outside of Boise northeast. Their playtime together, while Michael was young, was "clowning around" pretending to be different "characters," like the Vikings of old. Marvin had a wonderful sense of humor. Also surviving are his grandchildren, both Michael's -- granddaughter Kali-Rae Keenum, six years old, who lives with her mom in Post Falls, and Justus C. Jackson, seven months, with his dad in St. Anthony's. His kids' mother, Janet Jackson-Miller, with whom Marvin was married for 17 years, also survive him, in Hayden. Marvin's second marriage was short-lived. Other survivors include his brothers Kenny and wife Carolyn Jackson of Post Falls, James and wife Cathy, Anchorage; sister Kathy and husband Andrew Gilbertson, Prosser, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Charles E. and Hazel E. (Steel) Jackson, and brother Charles (Bud) E. Jackson Jr. He loved anything Western and also loved fishing, hunting, traveling and horseback riding. Marvin mostly loved people and had a gift for giving generously. He never hesitated to stop and lend a helping hand to anyone broken down on the road, even if it meant being late for his own appointment somewhere. Marvin will be remembered and loved. Services will be 11 a.m. Oct. 15 at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave. Additional Comments: Coeur d'Alene Press - The Daily Bee Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County, Idaho <> Volunteer submission - No relation to the deceased. 14 October 2005 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/id/kootenai/obits/j/jackson955gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/idfiles/ File size: 2.8 Kb
