Lucille was born Nov. 8, 1916, in Barnsville, Minn., to Jack and Amelia Christian. She attended school in Minnesota and North Dakota, graduating from high school in Bismark, N.D. She married Lawrence L. Manning in Bismark Jan. 16, 1936. They moved to a farm outside of Hettinger, N.D., where they lived until 1941 when they moved to Lemmon, S.D. Lucille was very active in her church where she lived. Lucille, Lawrence and family moved to Missoula in 1966, where they owned and operated the Mount Jumbo Grocery store on Van Buren Street. They sold the store in 1972 and moved to South Fifth Street where Lucille resided until 2000. She moved to Post Falls in 2000, to be near her son, Terry. She spent the last three years in the loving care of Terry and his wife, Debbie, in their home. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, in 1974 and by her three sisters, Dorothy, Jane and Edith. Lucille was devoted to her six children. She is survived by Colette (Lee) Goeres, Missoula, Rick (Carol) Manning, Spokane, Camille (Art-Buttons) Holman, Kennewick, Wash., Doug (Bonnie) Manning, Stoilacoom, Wash., Larry Manning, Vancouver, Wash., and Terry (Debbie) Manning, Post Falls. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Viewing and remembrances will be at 6 p.m. followed by a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at the English Funeral Home in Post Falls, Monday Jan. 2. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. at the St. George Catholic Church in Post Falls. Internment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. Lucille will always be remembered as a loving, special mother and grandmother who loved to cook great meals for her family.
