Lisa was born Dec. 21, 1928, and raised in Fresno, Calif. As a young woman, she moved to San Francisco, where she was engaged at the highest levels of the cultural and social scene and known for her exotic beauty. Her occupations in the Bay Area included being a host of children's television programs and a disk jockey at a classical radio station. During the peak of her professional career, she managed the Oakland Symphony Orchestra, with which she met and married renowned concert pianist, Carlo Bussotti. Lisa lived for a time in Florence, Italy, and traveled to Greece, Egypt and England. She first moved to Idaho in 1975 as a small business proprietor, and then later to Fairbanks, Alaska, to experience the adventures of the "Last Frontier." There, she lived for 12 years using her background in psychology as a volunteer counselor for women's crisis victims, earning her the honorary but loving title of "Dr. Lisa." She also loved cats, and during that time raised several rare Champion Japanese Bobtails. Lisa returned to Idaho in 2002 to be close to her family. Her lovely operatic voice was a gift to those privileged to hear as she delighted her family and all around her with her passion for music. Her colorful, lovable eccentricity and fascinating sense of mystery, even to those closest to her, as well as her inclination to sing in sickness and in health, made her truly unforgettable. Lisa was preceded in death by her former husband, Carlo Bussotti, son Mario Ancona III, and her parents, Lloyd and Dolores Matlock. She is survived by her daughters, Francesca Bussotti-Spencer of Coeur d'Alene, and Victoria Ancona, Concord, Calif.; granddaughters Samantha, Melissa and Katrina Huff, Coeur d'Alene, and Brittina Ray, Concord, Calif. Memorial will be 3 p.m. Sept. 25 at Prairie Avenue Christian Center. All are welcome.
