Now her life beyond death has begun. Charlotte was born in Wardner on May 26, 1920, the ninth of 10 children, to John and Lisa Matson. She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1937. She began working for the Weber Bank before graduation and continued on as a bookkeeper at Weber Bank before World War II and for many years after the family returned to Kellogg in 1948. Charlotte also worked as a bookkeeper for McKim-Kiser Construction Co. For more than 20 years, she was office secretary and financial secretary for the United Church of Kellogg. The church has been a central part of the Graves' family life for many decades. Charlotte married Robert A. Graves on Sept. 21, 1941. They would have been married 64 years. The family moved back from Seattle to Kellogg in 1948, where they lived until Sept. 2003, when they moved to Coeur d'Alene. Charlotte's great passion was always her family -- Bob, son Paul (and Sue), grandson Brian (and Elvia) and her great-grandchildren Katie, Claire and Andy. She also deeply loved her brother, Bob Matson, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Memorial service to honor Charlotte's loving presence and her new life beyond death will be 11 a.m. Aug. 29 at United Church of Kellogg, to where memorials may be sent.
