McCain, 79 Malcolm Lee McCain, 79, Coeur d'Alene, passed away Nov. 12, 2005, at LaCrosse Health and Rehabilitation Center in Coeur d'Alene. He was born Sept. 29, 1926, in Goose Creek, Texas, to Norman and Thelma (Tuck) McCain. In April 1948, he married Mary Catherine (Moore), and together, they had three sons and one daughter. Malcolm's service to his country was extensive and included serving Pacific Duty in the Pacific during World War II (LST). In Feb. 1950, he earned his law degree from Baylor University, then used his talents as an attorney while serving in the Army J.A.G. Corp. He also served in Vietnam and was a 20-year veteran. Malcolm then moved his family to Alaska, where he spent six years working in the Alaska Attorney General's office in Anchorage. In 1976, the family relocated to Coeur d'Alene where Malcolm was self-employed as a partner in Acquisition Services, until his retirement in the early 90s. Throughout his life, Malcolm enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an active member in the North Idaho Fly Casters Club. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; sons Melvin, Michael and Larry; daughter Linda; sister Joyce Hartman; four grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and his terrier dog, Smokey. Memorials can be made to Kootenai Humane Society, or any cancer, heart or lung charity of donor's choice. Graveside memorial will be 11 a.m. Dec. 1 at Forest Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene. Reception will follow at First Presbyterian Church, 521 Lakeside Ave., Coeur d'Alene. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene chapel, is entrusted with arrangements.
