Randa (Pat), Coeur d'Alene, passed away Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at the age of 77. She was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Chicago and spent most of her childhood in Great Neck, N.Y., and Duluth, Minn. Pat graduated from Central High School in Duluth and the University of Minnesota with a major in education and psychology. She loved children and worked as a pre-school teacher and with disabled children and adults. She also enjoyed retail work, and at one time, owned a specialized clothing store. Pat lived in many communities in Minnesota, Iowa and North Idaho. In her youth, she was a competitive figure skater and as an adult developed a passion for politics. She served on the Iowa State Board for Social Services, worked as a precinct caucus chair on numerous political campaigns, and for animal rights. In later years, Pat enjoyed reading, gardening, decorating, refinishing furniture and working with seniors. Patricia is survived by Helmer (Randy), her loving and devoted husband of 51 years. She is the beloved mother of Patricia (Steven) Rude of Eden Prairie, Minn., Deborah (Kurt) Neumaier, Post Falls, and Robert, Coeur d'Alene; and is survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Clifford McLeod, mother LaRue Zube, and stepfather Edmund Zube. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Coeur d'Alene. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, was entrusted with arrangements. The family requests memorials be designated to Specialized Needs and Recreation, a camp for special needs children and adults.
