He was born March 14, 1925, in Perry, Ohio, and graduated in engineering from Ohio State University after serving three years in the Air Corps during World War II. Chuck's 30-year career in sales took him to Mississippi, Portland, Oregon and, eventually, to Coeur d'Alene, where he worked with Energy Products of Idaho. He retired from EPI in 1988. After the death of his first wife in 1987, Chuck moved to Coeur d'Alene, where he was twice blessed by meeting and marrying Jean Clark. Chuck is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 16 years; his daughter and son- in-law, Ann and Tom, Wilsonville, Ore.; son and daughter-in-law, Tyler and Alison Oliver, Lake Oswego, Ore.; stepchildren, Randy and Judy Clark, Seattle, Dan and Julie Clark, Teresa and Barry McHugh, Coeur d'Alene, and Debra Clark, Texas. Chuck was blessed with 14 grandchildren in his extended family whom he loved dearly, and his brother John Oliver of Falls Church, Va. Chuck will be remembered as an avid golfer, first as a member of Portland Golf Club and then Hayden Lake Country Club. His enthusiasm for the game and the friendships it brought will be remembered by those who shared the fairways with him. Chuck and Jean recently moved to their new log home overlooking Lake Coeur d'Alene and share it with their beloved Schnauzer, Kipper. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Dec. 21. at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, with a reception to follow at the family home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden ID 83835.
