"Willie" Schauer, 73, Auburn, Wash., died unexpectedly July 25, 2005, at his home. Born Feb. 13, 1932, to Theobald and Emma Schauer in Volt, Mont., the family moved in 1941 to Chilco, where Willie attended school through the eighth grade. He then went to Rathdrum High School, where he graduated in 1949. Willie then went to Kinman Business University for a time, before joining the Air Force for four years. After his military service, he went to University of Idaho, where he graduated and then went to work for Boeing doing contract auditing. After Boeing, Willie worked for 20 years as an auditor for the Department of Defense, from which he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean, in 1999, and his parents earlier on. Willie is survived by his sons, John and Steve of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter Michelle and son-in-law Rob Cimino, Duval, Wash.; sister Elsie Prouse, Olympia, Wash.; brothers Leonard Schauer and wife Lil, Donald Springs, Ariz., Lou Schauer and wife Nila, Federal Way, Wash., Larry Schauer and wife JoAnn, Rathdrum; sisters Violet and husband John Tanner, Olympia, Betty Long, Green Acres, Wash., Ruth and husband Gerry Gross, Centralia, Wash.; two granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and three aunts. Funeral service took place July 30 in Auburn and burial was at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn. Arrangements were under the care of Yahn & Son Funeral Home, 55 W. Valley Highway, Auburn, WA 98071, (253) 833-8877.
