Schreiner, 66, Coeur d'Alene, died Aug. 23, 2005, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He was born April 8, 1939, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Evelyn (Gibbs) and Gerald Schreiner, both of New York. For over 30 years, Gerald lived in Anchorage, Alaska, where he married Ila J. Dunn. While in Alaska, he was operations manager for the Alaska Pipe Line, and later worked in the environmental field before moving to Spokane Valley, where they lived for a year. They came to Coeur d'Alene in Feb. 2005. Gerald also owned and operated Alliance ENC in Post Falls. He served in the Marine Corps and was a member of VFW and American Legion Post 28 in Anchorage. He was also a member of American Veterans and Marine Corps League, also in Anchorage. Gerald is survived by his wife, Ila J., at home; son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Cherice Schreiner, Post Falls; daughters Donna Mathwig, Weed, Calif., Robin Manning, Wasilla, Alaska, and Debbie Harris, King Salmon, Alaska; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Vera, Florida, and Patty, New York; and several nieces and nephews, including nephew and God- son Jimmie Colin, Anchorage. Viewing will be noon-6 p.m. Aug. 29 and 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 30, both at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, which is in charge of arrangements. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Aug. 30 at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens.
