Zion, Jr. 77 Harvey L. Zion, Jr, 77, Coeur d'Alene, died Nov. 11 2005, at home. He was born Jan. 27, 2005, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Harvey L. Zion, Sr. and Shirley (Naomi) Walker. He retired in 1979 and moved to Coeur d'Alene from the South Lake Tahoe, Calif., Police Department, where he worked for 12 years. He had 20 years of law enforcement. He served in the Navy during WWII and then in the Marine Corps for one and a half years during the Korean conflict. Harvey was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and the Fairfax Lodge No. 556 in Larkspur, Calif. He was a former member of the Scottish Rite in Coeur d'Alene, and Keystone Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons of Spirit Lake. He was a Shriner with the Calam Temple in Lewiston. He was a member of the Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter No. 12 in Coeur d'Alene, Community Theater in Coeur d'Alene, Lake City Harmonizers in Coeur d'Alene and past president of the Amateur Radio Society in Coeur d'Alene. He was a member of the OWLS (Officers Without Legal Status) in Coeur d'Alene and a member of the Pappy Boyington Detachment of the Marine Corps League in Coeur d'Alene. He was the past commandant of the American Legion Post 9831 in Hayden. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Luttrell, Redding, Calif., sons Lloyd Zion, South Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Andrew Zion, Sparks, Nevada, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, companion Dorothy Robertson, Coeur d'Alene, and first wife Virginia Zion. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 10 a.m. at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene. Following the service a gathering will be held at Oak Crest Club House, 4301 N.
