All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/id/idfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: IDGenWeb Project idgenweb.project@gmail.com February 10, 2012, 10:57 am The Post Register (Idaho Falls, Idaho) [Feb. 1, 1950] Funeral: Hugh Mounts SALMON, Feb 1.---Funeral services for Hugh Mounts, known to his friends as "Crow" Mounts, were held at the Jones Funeral home Salmon, on Monday (January 31, 1950), with Rev. Don L. Smith officiating. Mounts was born on July 21, 1883, in Des Moines, Iowa, the sone of Sy and Mary Mounts. he moved west with his parents when a child and as a young man lived and worked in many places in the northwest. About 1920 he came to Lemhi ounty when in the employment of Fred Newman while driving a band of sheep from Hagerman, where he had been living. He became a well known stockman and mining man in Lemhi county. Shortly after his arrival in Lemhi county he worked for Martin Kern for a number of years. For the last 20 years he had worked in mines around Shoup, and was a partner with Joe McCourt for several years in the Wichem mine. At the time of Mr. McCourt's death in about 1938, Mr. Worley Lee became his partner. The past years he has been working in mine during the summer and staying with Mr. Lee during the winter months. He had been in ill health for the past three years and died suddenly on Friday (January 27, 1950) in Salmon. He has no known survivors. Two vocal solos were sung by Mrs. Eilna Ketchie, accounpanied by Mrs. Louis T. Carpenter. Pallbearers were Earl Witteborg, Ivan Reddington, Gilmore Denny, William Clark, Elmer Smith, John Johnston. Burial took place in the Salmon cemetery under direction of the Jones Funeral home.
