This data was compared with the records of the Cemetery District. In many cases the gravestone would list only the year of death, while the records of the Cemetery District provided the day and month. The map of the cemetery indicates the location of the various blocks, lots and burial location of individuals. In some instances, the only record of burial can be located on this map. Several individuals are not listed in the Cemetery District records and have no headstone. This book is a reflection of the three sources merged together, in an attempt to provide as complete a record as possible. A search of the 1910 and 1920 Richfield, Lincoln County, U.S. Census was made. Notation is made if an individual is located on these census to provide additional help to the researcher. Data obtain from obituaries has also been inserted under the comments section. RCR refers to "Richfield Cemetery Records" which was recently located. Apparently information, from an unknown source, listing deaths was alphabetized in the 1950's. The location of burial on many of the listing from these records is unknown. Several longtime residents of the Richfield Community reviewed the entries and added more specific genealogical information. This has been entered under "comments" to prevent confusion with extracted information from records and information obtained through memory. Several groups of youth as well as Senior Citizens assisted me in the work of extracting the data from the gravestones. Included were a youth group from the LDS Church; Polly Ross, Fay Hubsmith, Med Flavel, Mary King, Ethel Conner, Ruth Swainston and Olive Ward. The typists working with me included Monica Blevins, Sadie Firth, Emily and Becky Ward. Med Flavel, Ethel Conner, Myron and Mabel Johnson, Melba Sanders, LuAnn Swainston and Mary King were numbered among the individuals who added "comments" in the book to add to the genealogical value. LuAnn Swainston of the Cemetery District was extremely helpful in providing maps and records of the cemetery. It has been a positive experience for me to learn about former community members as the names engraved on the headstones took on individual identities. This project was accomplished through the combined efforts of numerous members of the community, and I am grateful for all of their assistance. Compiled by Maureen H. Ward P.O.
