The two persons, both charged with the first degree murder in the death of the Manhattan, Mont., man, previously had told officials how Williams had killed Miss Reems' dog after the animal had protested the death of Reems. The dead animal, they said, was dumped out of the automobile and left beside the road. Howard E. Adkins, Lincoln county prosecutor, who has been conducting a search for the dead animal, found the dog Monday. Through pictures of the dead animal, Williams Friday identified the animal as the one he had killed after Reems had been shot. The location of the animal's body also tends to definitely establish jurisdiction in the crime, Adkins said. The body was found in Lincoln county, Reems' body was discovered in Blaine county, and preliminary investigations into the murder were conducted by Blaine county officials. Following the gun shot death of Reems, both Miss Reems and Williams said in their statements to Adkins, the dog snarled and growled at them. Since they were carrying Reem's body in the automobile with them they decided it would be best to get rid of the animal. Williams said he took the small dog from the car so that its death would not be witnessed by the Reems girl, and beat it to death with an automobile jack handle. Although he wanted to spare her the sight of her pet being killed, both Williams and Miss Reems have admitted that her father was seated beside her when the bullet entered his head. Miss Reems also claims that it was she who planned her father's murder. Miss Reems also told officials that she and her father had a joint bank account in a north Mont. bank and that they owned stock jointly. Adkins has been following leads but accidently discovered the funds or stocks with their names.
