  Mrs. Fred A. Simpson, 41, A well known and respected mother of the Richfield 
community, passed away at a hospital in Gooding on Monday evening, following a 
major surgical operation performed the preceeding day. She had been a resident 
of the tract for 15 years.
  Lauretta Ketron (Simpson) was born at Trenton, Missouri, on Sept 25,1892. 
When a young girl she removed with her parents to Mountain Grove, Missouri, and 
there grew to womanhood. In February 1913 she was married to Fred A. Simpson, 
and for the next five years the couple made their home at Caney, Kansas. In 
1918 they settled on the Richfield tract and continued to make that their home.
  Ten children were born to the Simpsons, these being Susie, Mary Virginia who 
died in infancy, Jack, Doris, Freda, Beatrice, Parker, Audrey, Reba and Shirley 
Mae. Besides her children and husband she leaves a sister Mrs. John McIntosh of 
Richfield, one brother, John Ketron of Preston, Arizona, and countless friends.
  Mrs. Simpson was baptized in the Methodist church at Caney, Kansas, in 1915, 
transferring her membership to the Richfield church in 1920. She has been a 
consistent hearty worker in that church.
  Funeral services were held from the Richfield town hall at 2 o'clock on 
Wendsday, with Rev. Mark White and Tracy Coker officiating. Music was furnished 
by a quartet consisting of Mrs. L.W. Garlock, Mrs. G. Erwin, Fay Manwill and 
Lou Crowthers, with Mrs. Truman McMahon accompanying. Interment was in 
Richfield cemetery.
