Hodges Roland, 88, died at the Minidoka Memorial Hopital, Nov. 28 after a long illness. She was born Jan. 24, 1874, in Phillipsburg, Kan., and married James Thomas Roland, March 3, 1897. He preceded her in death Sept. 7, 1949. Mrs. Roland came to Rupert in 1960 when she became a patient at the Minidoka hospital. She was a member of the LDS Church and received her education in Phillipsburg. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Leona E. Mick, Holton, Kan.; Mrs. L. Earl (Gladys) Morgan, Spring Valley, Calif.; Mrs. J.H. (Mildred) Chamberlain, Del City, Okla.; Mrs. B.A. (Bessie) Dixon, Rupert, two sons, George L. Roland, Redding, Calif.; and H. Gordon Roland, Rupert; one step-son, Orville R. Roland, Winside, Neb.; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Chambers, Mrs. Mable Farrington and Mrs. Addie Martin, all of Iowa; one brother, Earl Wilbur Hodges, Iowa; 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rupert LDS tabernacle, James D. Christianson officiating. Interment will be in the Rupert cemetery, Payne mortuary in charge of services.
