Bancroft Promoted.

W. H. Bancroft, vice president and general manager of the Oregon Short Line for 
eight years, was appointed general manager of the Union Pacific system on 
Thursday of last week.  It is understood that Mr. Bancroft will hold his old 
position with the Short Line and by this arrangement part of the general 
management of that system will undoubtedly be thrown into other hands, probably 
General Superintendent Calvin’s.
