COUPLE OBSERVE GOLDEN WEDDING

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Strohbehn, Of New Plymouth Observe 50th Wedding Anniversary

NEW PLYMOUTH (Special to the Independent-Enterprise)
The outstanding social event of the season was the golden wedding celebration 
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Strohbehn in the social room of the Baptist church 
Sunday.  The room was decorated with lavender crepe paper, ropes hung with fine 
silver ribbon.  The table was shaped with michaelmas daisies in low bowels and 
single roses in bud vases.  A five tier wedding cake rested on a large mirror 
framed with white nut baskets and had a place car on the handles.  

Covers were laid for fifty.  The following program arranged by Miss Phyllis 
Strohbehn was given during the dinner.  

Grace, Rev. P. Glenn Garner; piano solo, Mrs. H. Solterbeck; “Exciting moments 
at the Strohbehn’s” a story by Mrs. N. S. Felthouse, who was a nurse at the 
arrival of all five babies; guitar solo, Ben Strohbehn, Jr.; piano solo, 
Shirley Solterbeck; “toast to my dad,” Morley Strohbehn; banjo and piano 
instrumental, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Echrohe; “Silver Threads Among the Gold,” and 
medley of popular songs twenty-five years ago; Reading, “A Heap of Living,” 
Miss Phyllis Strohbehn.  

Besides the hosts and family those present were Mrs. Addie Hall and Mrs. Fred 
Saman of Moscow, Mt. and Mrs. Ben Strohbehn, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Hall, Mr. and 
Mrs. H. B. Solterbeck and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Solterbeck and family, all 
of Payette, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hall of Eagle, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Creswell, Miss 
Phyllis Strohbehn and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Echrohe all of Boise, Mr. and Mrs. P. 
Glenn Garner and family, Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Felthouse, Gus Ziegher and Wayne 
Hall.

The afternoon was spent at the ranch where Mr. and Mrs. Strohbehn have lived 
for twenty-four years.
