The new Baptist church was opened up Sunday for regular services the first time. In the evening at 7 o’clock the young people’s societies of the different churches joined in a union meeting in the new church, which was led by R. E. Haynes. This was an excellent service, nearly all the Christian young people of the town taking active part. At 8 o’clock the congregations of the several churches met with Baptist people in a fine union meeting. The new edifice was crowded to its doors. The choir was composed of the singers from each of the churches, making a good strong one and the singing was rousing, having been greatly enjoyed. There was present Rev. Johnson of Salt Lake, missionary of the American Sunday School Union, who read the opening scripture lesson. Short talks were made by Rev. Herbert Jones of the Methodist church, Rev. W. E. Bobbitt of the Christian church, and Rev. T. S. Dulin of the Baptist church. The church building is not entirely completed, but it can now be used and has been fixed temporarily until its completion can be arranged for.
