Zimmerman entertained their friends last night at crockinole. Twenty guests were present. A. W. Hadly won first gentleman's prize, Mrs. Satoris the booby. Yesterday afternoon a number of Payette sports had a chase after a very large mountain lion that came almost into town. The ladies of the Portia club are again holding very interesting meetings every two weeks. They decided yesterday on the following program for the rest of the year: Feb. 4 - An evening with authors. Feb. 18 - Current events. The development of Alaska and Arctic explorers. March 4 - Famous trees. Monroe doctrine, Porto Rico and Cuba. March 18 - My favorite dish and how to make it. Philippines and Emerson. April 1 - Idaho's governors. Idaho and most popular books of last three months. April 15 - Ancestor's Day, Mexico and its people, and Brook farm. April 29 - A book that I enjoy and why. Chinese question. Important bills passed by the last session of the legislature. May 13 - Quotations from Ella W. Wilcox. Century's progress in science. The new woman. May 27 - Presidents of United States. Literary women of America. Darwin June 10 - Business meeting.
