FROM PAYETTE
 
Payette, Jan. 1 -- Today a cold wind has been blowing.  Ice has been forming 
all day.  The skating is good.
 
The social event of the season occurred last night at Lamme hall, where the 
M.W. A. gave a masked ball.  Thirty-seven couples were masked.  Over 200 
people were in the hall and all went merry as a marriage bell.  Prizes were 
given to several best sustained characters.
 
P. J. Taylor and family moved to Emmett, this morning.
 
John Napton left on the eastbound for Kansas City.
