Day of the fruit firm of Scobel & Day, of New York, is visiting from the Payette fruit orchards. William Brother and J. W. McDaniel two capitalists and lumbermen of Murphyboro, Ill., arrived this morning. They are looking for a location and say that, should they locate here, 50 or 60 families will come with them from the above place. Judge J. T. Clements of Ontario, is shaking hands with old friends here today. The Ontario people are stilling going to the gold field and staking off claims. About 20 of Payette's men will have claims staked off in a day or so. Tom Shearer and J. Milligan are in from the Crane creek country and report a great deal of damage done to the grain, and barley has almost doubled in price as the result.
