George W. Long and family will take their departure Sunday for Hygiene, Colo., where they will probably remain for a year. Mr. Long goes to Colorado to take charge of a mercantile establishment belonging to his son-in-law, L. E. Keltner, who is known to many Payette people, he having visited this place over a year ago, when he conducted services for the Brethren church, of which he is an active and able member. Mr. Long informs the Independent that he likes the Payette Valley much too well to think of leaving it permanently and that he only leaves for the time stated because conditions make it wise for him to do so. He says he hopes to be back in Payette within a year and if his son-in-law can dispose of his business satisfactorily he hopes to bring him and his family as well as several other families from that section to make their homes here. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Swab will occupy Mr. Long’s residence during his absence.
