Ed Grothjan, of the City Meat Market, had some kind of a misunderstanding with 
a cow a few days since, and as a result has been going on crutches ever since.  
In attempting to knock the animal in the head, the top rail of the pen gave 
way, precipitating him head-foremost into the pen.  Ed was knocked senseless by 
the fall and when he regained consciousness the cow was bunting him about on 
the ground.  If she hadn’t been dehorned he might have been all day with the ? 
man.
