G. Whitney at the Payette nursery. The party included Receiver S. H. H. Clark, General Superintendent of Mountain Division W. H. Bancroft, Superintendent of Hotel Department Markel, and Superintendent of Idaho Division E. E. Calvin. We are glad to know that it is beginning to dawn upon these gentlemen, who have it within their power to do much towards advancing the importance of prosperity of any community with which they may become favorably impressed, that the little town of Payette nestles in the very heart of “The Chosen Valley,” and only needs that encouragement of which it is eminently deserving, to become one of the most important points tributary to the great Union Pacific system.
