Shipments to the World’s Fair—Prune Crop at Payette. Boise Statesman. Arrangements have been made for the shipment to the World’s Fair of not to exceed eight boxes of fruit a week form this city and Commissioner Wells has appointed William Bryon to well known horticulturist, to attend the shipment from this point. Persons desiring to send fruit to the fair for the Idaho exhibit can do so at any time by leaving the same at the Overland hotel. They will be taken in charge at once by Mr. Bryon. Similar arrangements have been made at Payette and Weiser. Assistant Commissioner V. D. Hannah will receive donations at the latter place and either N. A. Jacobsen or W. G. Whitney at Payette. The Payette prune crop is exceptionally heavy this year, and there seems to be a lively demand for every pound of this fruit grown there. A few days ago, Messrs. Gorrie, Whitney, Jacobsen and Rossi shipped by express one and one-half tons of fresh prunes to different points in Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska. N. A. Jacobsen is arranging to ship six car loads of prunes to the eastern markets.
