That was the verdict of everybody who attended the entertainment given by the ladies of St. James’ Guild at Lamme’s opera house, Tuesday evening. The young folks did exceptionally well in “My Wife’s Relations,” and were heartily applauded many times during the rendition. At the conclusion of the play, the beautiful silk quilt was awarded to Mr. S. E. Chapman, the popular station agent at this place, after which delicious berries and ice cream were served with cake to a part of the audience, while others tripped the light fantastic toe to the strains of the excellent music. We understand the receipts of the evening were entirely satisfactory to the ladies of the Guild, and that they could have disposed of more refreshments than had been prepared for the occasion. We haven’t seen a nicer company of people together in Payette for a long time and everybody seemed to be getting value received so far as a general good time was concerned.
