Ireton, the Payette Ranchman, in the City John H. Ireton is over from Marsh. He states that the Payette river is just a little higher than at any previous time this season, but he does not think that a dangerous stage of water will be reached. The river has been running bank full for a month and the supply of water in the mountains seems to have been well drawn off. Mr. Ireton states the prospects for fruit in that section are very good. All the trees, including peaches, are heavily in bloom. He referred to the fact that he had noticed where some trees had been dug up in this vicinity, having supposedly been killed by the Thanksgiving freeze. In this connection he narrated that some years ago severe cold seemed to have killed nearly all their fruit trees on the great ranch at Marsh. They proceeded to root up one orchard entirely. There were some peach trees near the house, however, which though they appeared to be dead, were left standing. These trees are still bearing heavily every year.
