On Friday of last week Payette received a visit from a party of gentlemen who were seeking a suitable place in which to locate a colony of twenty or thirty families. The party was composed of Rev. David Garver, of Ohio, Josiah Rowe, B. L. Shrock, Joseph McConnell and M. S. Yoder, of Indiana. They were accompanied by E. C. Brainard, of Utah, and H. E. Dunn, traveling passenger agent of the Oregon Short Line, and Jim Hays of Boise. The party was driven out by Mssers. Wood, Bartch and Shawhan to look at the Noble lands, a beautiful tract of 1600 acres on the bench. We talked with some of the visitors upon their return to the city and they expressed themselves as being well pleased with the country they had seen. As yet nothing is known definitely as to what conclusion the party has arrived at with reference to the matter of locating.
